I saw this beauty in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware a few weekends ago and had to share it on the site. I honestly am not sure where to start on this car. It has had a few modifications that are trying to make the car go faster. They have probably succeeded.
First, let’s look at a stock Audi R8. This is the 5.2 litre V10, which produced about 525 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. This car goes for about $150K and is probably worth every penny. The top speed is right at 200 mph and the 0-60 time is 3.7 seconds. Those specs can compete with just about any sports car out there.
The first thing I noticed about the car was the color. Matte black isn’t a usual color for an Audi. I am guessing this car is skinned in the matte black and not painted. The next thing I saw were the extra aerodynamic additions on the front bumper. Since this is an all-wheel drive car I thought it was to help keep the car down in front for traction.
Then I looked at the engine, in fact, you should too. Did you notice it? The word “supercharged” is on the engine with a new addition in the middle. That is a Stasis Supercharger. It is an additional $40K to the price of the car but it also ups the horsepower to 710 and the torque to 523 lb-ft. Those are crazy numbers. I wasn’t able to see any additional enhancements but I bet there were a few more.
I wish I could have stayed to see this car drive away. The sound the supercharger makes is probably outstanding. The car is beautiful too.
