We were walking around an All-Italian car show recently. It is always cool to see the cars that are driven to a car show, sometimes they are better than the cars that were entered. While we were walking this Ferrari FF pulled into the parking lot and we just had to go check it out.
This Grand Tourer is currently in production by Ferrari. I think Ferrari is starting to go a little crazy with the names though. When I hear FF I think French Fries, but that is probably because I’m fat. In this case it stands for Ferrari Four, as in four seat or four-wheel drive. Unlike the AWD system in my Toyota this car is mainly in the traditional rear wheel drive. When the pilot selects either snow or comfort a second gearbox engages for power to the front wheel, but only in 1-4 gears.
The engine is massive. It is a 6.3 litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 651 horsepower and 504 lb-ft of torque. That can propel the 4 passengers to 60 in about 3.7 seconds. Not too bad for a station-wagon.
