Sadly, Carroll Shelby died earlier this year. He was able to create some of the most iconic cars in the history of racing. He was a tall Texan who wasn’t afraid of anyone. Conversely, his cars have scared a lot of people over the years. Below are a few pictures of two different type of Shelby cars.
The Shelby Daytona Coupe is chassis # CSX2287. That car is also known as the prototype. The first Daytona and the only one built entirely in America by the Shelby team. I won the GT class in the 1964 12 Hours of Sebring and was even featured in a The Monkees episode. Also, the car was driven by Phil Hill at one time. Phil was the first American born Formula 1 champion. This car is in the collection at the Simeone Foundation.
The rest of the cars are Cobras. I really don;t know a lot about how authentic they are. Even if the cars have been change a little, or a lot, they are still very attractive, and probably scary.
